About Us

The International Institute of Communications
(IIC) is an international, independent, non-governmental and interdisciplinary network of senior policy makers, regulators, scholars, technologists, industrialists and content providers embracing broadcasting, telecommunications and new media in some 70 countries.

The Canadian Chapter of the IIC was established in the late 1960s to provide a forum in this country for industry, government and academia to analyze and debate trends in communications and their impact on society on a national and international level. As such, IIC Canada joins the IIC in helping it to achieve its goal of providing a global framework for dialogue and to promote access to communications for all people of the world.

Other national chapters of the IIC include Asia, Australia, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
